Gabriel López is a Technical Industrial Engineer from the Universidad Pontificia de Comillas (ICAI) and has spent his professional career at the TotalEnergies Group, where he began in the lubricants market through Fina Ibérica. He continued his career through the company's successive acquisitions over time: TotalFina, TotalFinaElf, Total España and, currently, TotalEnergies Marketing España.

With more than 35 years’ experience in the sector, he has worked in various areas of the multinational, including fuel marketing, fuel cards, and the fuel distribution network and its subsidiaries. He has international experience, having worked as an expatriate Lubricants Director in subsidiaries in other countries. On his return, he led the Commercial Department and business development of the Spanish subsidiary. Since 2023, he has resumed management of the Commercial Department and, since 2025, has been Director of TotalEnergies' Industrial Lubricants and AFS Business Unit for Spain and Portugal.

He is also actively involved in ASELUBE (the Spanish Lubricants Association, which represents 81% of the market in Spain), where he has served as vice-president of the association for the past 6 years, and has also been a board member of SIGAUS since 2012.

“Gabriel López succeeds Buenaventura González del Campo, who has held the presidency of SIGAUS since 2017.”

“It is an honour to take on the Presidency of SIGAUS and GENCI and to continue the work carried out by both entities. SIGAUS is celebrating 20 years of activity, strengthening its position as one of Spain's most mature and well-established SEPRS schemes and a genuine international benchmark in the field of used oils, while GENCI is entering a key phase in consolidating its work in the management of commercial and industrial packaging waste. I take on this new responsibility with the aim of continuing to convey both sectors' commitment to the circular economy, bolstering collaboration among all stakeholders in their respective value chains (producers and distributors, consumers, public authorities and waste managers), so that SIGAUS and GENCI continue to drive sustainability and the efficient use of resources in Spain,” says the new President of SIGAUS and GENCI.

Gabriel López succeeds Buenaventura González del Campo, who has held the presidency of SIGAUS since 2017 and of GENCI since 2022, representing the company Enilive Iberia, S.L.U. (formerly Eni Iberia).

“It has been a privilege to serve as President of SIGAUS for more than a decade and to take on the presidency of GENCI in its early stages, supporting both organisations at key points in their development. Over these years, we have seen the industrial oils sector’s extraordinary ability to adapt and move forward, together with outstanding teams, in building solid and efficient management models. SIGAUS is today an example of how applying Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) can be a highly effective mechanism, not only to prevent hazardous waste from having an environmental impact, but also to turn it into a valuable resource; an experience and a commitment that have likewise guided the launch of GENCI,” says Buenaventura González del Campo.
