The SIGAUS Environmental Classroom, present for yet another year at the Profesor Raúl Vázquez Integrated Centre for Vocational Training (CIFP), a reference centre in the specialist areas of Automotive and Mechanics
The SIGAUS training initiative is collaborating for yet another year with the Profesor Raúl Vázquez Integrated Centre for Vocational Training (CIFP) in Madrid, which teaches all the centre’s Intermediate and Advanced Programmes in the field of Automotive and Mechanics, a wide range that includes specialised areas such as Maintenance of Aircraft Electronic and Avionics Systems, Aeromechanical Maintenance, Machinery Electromechanics, Bodywork and Railway Maintenance. In addition, and for the fourth year running, SIGAUS has continued its collaboration with the IES Virgen de la Paloma, one of the largest education centres in Spain, and extended its talks to new centres such as the IES San Blas in Madrid. The future professionals, being trained in all these centres, have already received the technical training required to handle the challenges relating to the management of lubricant oils at the end of their useful life. This product is widely used in the sectors where they are going to work, and they need to know about handling waste oil.

The SIGAUS Environmental Classroom is continuing to work with education centres and teachers with the aim of bringing, future professionals in the sectors where lubricant oils are most used, closer to everything related to the specific features and proper management of its waste, so that they are ready to handle the environmental and sustainability challenges that are already emerging in the near future. As in previous years, they have worked with the Profesor Raul Vázquez Integrated Centre for Vocational Training (CIFP), which focuses exclusively on specialised areas relating to the automotive world, mechanics and the maintenance of all types of vehicles including industrial, aircraft and rail.
Close to one hundred students have recently received training from the Environmental Classroom thanks to the joint collaboration that this centre and SIGAUS have maintained since 2019, all with the aim of expanding the knowledge of these students in the field of waste management and Circular Economy. Furthermore, as a result of the joint effort of teachers, management and several department heads and the secretary of the centre itself, it has been possible to organise several training sessions for students enrolled in the Advanced Vocational Training and Dual Programmes in Machinery Electromechanics, Automotive, Maintenance of Industrial and Railway Vehicles.

„
In this sense, the beginning of the year has been one of intense activity for the SIGAUS Environmental Classroom, as its training talks have also reached other prominent Vocational Training centres, including the IES Virgen de la Paloma: a reference school in Spain due to its size, number of specialisations and students and which, was incorporated into the SIGAUS Environmental Classroom in 2018, and the IES San Blas, where various training courses were given to more than fifty students of the Advanced and Intermediate Automotive and Electromechanics Programmes.
So far, more than 1,200 students have participated in this Environmental Classroom, which currently collaborates with 15 centres involved in this initiative, not only in Vocational Training programmes (FP), but also various University and Master degree programmes. In total, more than 20 specialisations relating to mechanics and automobiles, as well as various types of industrial, chemical or environmental engineering, have joined this training initiative, through which SIGAUS seeks to provide added value to its management of used oils and also improve its social commitment to environmental awareness and education.
