The SIGAUS social networks celebrate the 10th anniversary

During 2017, when SIGAUS celebrated its first decade, the Entity’s social networks have been more active than ever, with the number of followers growing day by day and continuously evolving to move closer to the groups of interest. Viral competitions, video campaigns, gaming or diffusion through influencers are some of the actions taken this year on SIGAUS’ Facebook, Twitter and Instagram profiles, as well as the YouTube channel, reporting a summary of this decade of activity in various ways, with key figures such as the 1.4 million tonnes of used industrial oil collected or the saving of contaminating emissions exceeding 2.8 million tonnes of CO2.

To celebrate its 10th anniversary, SIGAUS is focusing on reinforcing its presence and interactions on all social networks, which are increasingly active, in order to stay in permanent contact with the users and to send them a message of optimism for the work carried out over the years.

The focus of SIGAUS is to continue to promote its presence on social media, considered the optimum channel for interacting with users and a key tool for achieving true feedback from them, with greater visibility for messages on prevention and protection of the environment.

Included in this broad task, a commemorative video has been included which showed the Entity’s gratitude to everyone who made it possible to reach these results since it was born in 2007, using a cast of actors to represent different age groups that benefit from the activity carried out by SIGAUS and the change in mentality that this has implied.  

 

In deed, to give the greatest distribution possible to this video, a specific campaign was carried out on Facebook which achieved over 470,000 views in less than one month, with an average of 20,000 views per day, reaching over 340,000 people, mostly interested parties or those that work in sectors related to waste management, lubricants, garages, environment and recycling in Spain. Over the course of the campaign, the Facebook profile grew by 3,000 new followers. Up to last August, there were over 111,500 users following SIGAUS on it’s Facebook profile, almost 37,300 on Twitter and slightly more than 1,900 on Instagram. 


In addition, during this year, SIGAUS’ profile on Instagram held several small competitions aimed towards the users that have increased the Entity’s scope on this social network. They have all been in the running for cinema tickets or weekends away.
Also for the first time, in recent months SIGAUS carried out a special action with influencers (significant users due to their high level of followers and, therefore, repercussion of their activity) from various sectors, who supported the SIGAUS Challenge game campaign based on a series of games and skill tests where, as well as learning about the life cycle of used oil in a fun way, the users could win one
of the 4,000 prizes that were available during this action.
