SIGAUS's commitment to the economic fabric underpins its new 2020 Sustainability Report
SIGAUS has just published its new Sustainability Report for 2020, a year shaped by the pandemic and the Entity's effort to uphold its service to all sectors within the economy. Through its used industrial oil management work, SIGAUS has contributed to keeping many of them active, providing essential coverage to a broad range of sectors from automobiles to industry, hospitality, agri-food and transport.

Published 100% digitally, the new Report includes a detailed analysis of SIGAUS efforts over the past year through the website www.memoria2020.sigaus.es, where the Entity's activity has been structured in different areas including economic, environmental and social aspects, alongside a variety of infographics breaking down the most specific aspects of its activity.

This microsite also includes a video-summary as a presentation of the main 2020 data and the efforts made to effectively solve the problem of waste oil, work that has at no point been interrupted.
This year's document included the collaboration of the Secretary General for Innovation of the Spanish Government, Teresa Riesgo, who provided an interesting analysis of the role of science and innovation in the current stage of economic recovery, and referred to the lubricants sector as one of the most dynamic in terms of innovation.
She also praised the role of SIGAUS as an umbrella for the sector's environmental commitment and its promotion of prevention and other measures to ensure that lubricants are not harmful to the environment.
The SIGAUS Sustainability Report was once again drawn up in accordance with the standards of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), the international benchmark organisation in terms of organisational reporting, and also underwent an external review by the consultancy firm EY.
