SIGAUS showcases its workshop management expertise at the 2022 Motortec while promoting its Environmental Classroom for automotive students

The prominent trade fair for automotive repair, aftermarket, and components returned to Madrid after a three-year hiatus, and SIGAUS was certainly there to meet with repair shops, which represent an essential used oil recovery channel. The entity harnessed its stand in Hall 9 to promote the importance of waste management at these establishments and also, training in this area for students of the specialities most closely related to the use of lubricants. The SIGAUS stand also hosted Capital Radio station’s programme 'Sobre ruedas' (On Wheels), whose guests included figures from the top workshop associations.

After two long years during which this bellwether event—dedicated to automotive repair, aftermarket, and components—could not be held, SIGAUS is back at the 2022 Motortec trade fair. And it has done so from a large stand in Hall 9, where it has showcased its work managing used industrial oil and the importance of training students of the specialities most closely related to the use of lubricants, since they are the future professionals of the automotive sector.

SIGAUS firmly believes that attending this key meeting for the automotive industry and aftermarket sector is essential every year, since it is the main meeting point with one of the essential channels for recovering used lubricants: repair shops. SIGUAS thus joined over 500 exhibitors to share information with more than 52,000 professionals from the sector who visited the four-day fair.

SIGAUS’s stand provided the current and future automotive sector professionals with an opportunity to learn about how SIGAUS manages used industrial oil.

Throughout the trade fair, SIGAUS informed attendees of its activity and shared informative material, even clarifying the doubts of stand visitors about their role as professionals and the importance of observing good practices when removing, storing and delivering lubricating oil waste to authorised managers. SIGAUS was also able to tell many visiting students and teachers of automotive and mechanical expertise about SIGAUS Environmental Classroom, a training initiative aimed precisely at providing them with specific knowledge on these aspects.

“Beyond the management of the waste as such, part of the work carried out by SIGAUS is helping current and future professionals become aware of the importance of the correct management of this type of waste generated in the workshop; in addition to its use and the savings and benefits that the Circular Economy brings. At this fair, we have clearly seen the great interest that these aspects arouse in young people, an interest that, from SIGAUS, we want to continue to promote with our Environmental Classroom and attendance at such meetings”, explained Fermín Martínez de Hurtado, SIGAUS Institutional Relations and Communication Director. He also highlighted the sector's growing commitment to integrating environmental protection into its daily practice and an “awareness of being part of a chain of events that we must work together to achieve”.
