The heads of SIGAUS have met with all three organisations with which they have been collaborating for the last six years for a first-hand look at the work they carry out on a day-to-day basis.
José Carlos López Seisdedos, Director of the Porque Viven Foundation, thanked SIGAUS for its collaboration since 2018, as it contributes to ensuring the work that is carried out in paediatric palliative care. This organisation aims to complement public health services in the care they provide to children with palliative needs, as well as their families. López Seisdedos commented that, this time, the economic contribution from SIGAUS will help the foundation to continue with the construction of the first comprehensive complex dedicated to palliative care for children in Spain.
The centre will be located in Madrid and will offer services ranging from vacancies in the Day Centre to rooms and rest areas for carers and relatives of terminally ill children from all over the country. It will also include specific facilities for physiotherapy and treatment, as well as a space dedicated to professional training in the field of paediatric palliative care.
