SIGAUS Environmental Hall (Aula Ambiental SIGAUS) continues to grow. As well as the impulse to training and the environmental disclosure thanks to a new collaborator: the University Antonio de Nebrija, one of the few Spanish Universities with a specific university superior degree focusing on Motor Engineering. This agreement will allow SIGAUS to bring to the classrooms, which at the moment future professionals of the industrial and automotive sector are trained, and acquire specific knowledge about the dangers of used industrial oil and the logistical particularities involved in the management of this hazardous waste.
The objective of this Environmental Hall, created in 2015, is precisely to encourage training on waste management and good practices that must be carried out by the producers of this waste. In the framework of this collaboration agreement, the Director of Institutional Relations and Communication of SIGAUS, Fermín Martínez de Hurtado, already participated last April in the training activities organized during the Engineering Week of the Polytechnic School, with an informative talk in which students from the Mechanical and Automobile Engineering and Master’s degrees in Industrial Engineering from the University participated.

The Nebrija University joins SIGAUS as a 'partner' in its commitment to take training in waste management to the classrooms where future professionals from the industrial and automotive sectors are trained.

The commitment to dissemination and environmental awareness are part of the DNA of SIGAUS since its inception in 2007. And now, through its Environmental Hall, this work strives to reach the university and the Higher Schools, as well as the training centers of middle and vocational training. All of them are told the importance of the correct management of used industrial oils, their contaminating characteristics, the regulations that regulate them, and the obligations that the workshops and industries have when extracting and storing the waste so that it can later be treated properly.
In the case of the Nebrija University, throughout the 2018–2019 Course, new training actions and projects will be undertaken thanks to the joint efforts of both entities, which consider that the extracurricular training of the students in aspects as fundamental as the principles of the Circular Economy and the protection of the environment for the performance of their profession is an investment of the future with numerous benefits, both for society and for their own personal and professional development.
