A fee for drivers

All used oil collection and treatment operations done by authorised managers at car repairs are financed via the contributions we receive at SIGAUS from all adhered companies which produce or sell lubricating oil in Spain. According to current legislation, these operations must be charged to drivers when performing oil changes to their vehicles. This is done through a fee of €0.05 per Kg of new oil.

These contributions are to be passed on to motorists when they change the oil in their vehicles through a charge of €0.05 per kg of new oil.

This amount cannot be modified by any actor in the manufacturer's distribution and marketing chain. As established by law, workshops are responsible for informing consumers of their contribution to financing the management of the waste, by itemising it on the invoice they receive when they change the oil in their vehicle with the words "SIGAUS" or "RD 679/2006". This fee is exclusively for the management of used oil and not for other waste.
