Partnership between SIGAUS and Comforp Foundation to promote innovation in vocational training

The agreement between the two organisations will support the creation of educational projects that foster creativity, entrepreneurship, and environmental awareness among vocational training students by connecting learning with hands-on experience. One standout initiative is the Alarnes Racing Team project, where students collaborate to build a real Formula 1 prototype, exemplifying innovation and cooperation in vocational training.

SIGAUS has signed a collaboration agreement with Comforp Foundation (Commitment to Vocational Training), a non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting the quality and development of vocational training in Spain. The agreement, signed by Eduardo de Lecea, Managing Director of SIGAUS, and Pablo Reyes Piris, President of the Foundation, aims to promote initiatives that combine technical training, innovation, and sustainability among young vocational training students. Thanks to this agreement, SIGAUS will take part in Comforp-led initiatives that help students apply classroom knowledge in real-world settings, boost their employability, and increase environmental awareness. During the first year of collaboration, SIGAUS will focus its contribution on promoting the Alarnes Racing Team (ART) project, in which students from IES Alarnes in Getafe design and manufacture a Formula 1 prototype in line with 2026 FIA specifications.

“Supporting vocational training means investing in the future, in innovation, and in a younger generation that is more aware of the importance of caring for the environment” - Ainhöa Lizarbe, Director of Institutional Relations and Communication at SIGAUS.

The students taking part in this collaborative project will be involved in every stage of building and launching the prototype: from the initial design of the vehicle to the assembly of each component, culminating in a test drive on a closed, controlled circuit. SIGAUS will also support the students in preparing a marketing and communications plan to publicise this initiative. An all-encompassing project that enhances practical learning in a realistic environment where mechanics, creativity, and competitive spirit come together.

This is a first step within a collaboration in which both entities are looking to the long term. The agreement also includes expanding the reach of the SIGAUS Environmental Classroom by offering its training to vocational centres affiliated with Comforp. This programme, aimed at raising awareness and training students in areas related to use of industrial oil, will continue to stress the importance of proper used oil management and its positive impact on the environment.
