The 16th edition of CONAMA welcomed more than 5,000 guests, including companies, public agencies, students and other professionals. The event offered more than 100 activities which emphasised the need to address a transformation in all areas of society in order to tackle the accumulated ecological debt.

SIGAUS participated in the Congress with a stand from which it educated visitors on the stages of waste oil management and the agents involved in the process, as well as the environmental and economic benefits that are achieved through the Circular Economy model, using a range of educational and audiovisual materials.

To highlight the System’s efficiency, SIGAUS pointed to data on the results of its work after 15 years, including the more than 2 million tons of used oil managed, which has enabled 900,000 tons of lubricant bases to be returned to the market. The fact that non-regenerative waste oil can also be put to good use was also emphasised, as demonstrated by the 6,700 GWh of energy obtained from waste oil recovered since 2007, an amount of energy equivalent to the annual consumption of 2 million households.
