“
The closing ceremony of the UAM Master’s Degree brought together academic leaders, partnering organisations, and the graduating class.
„
This was followed by a panel discussion with collaborating organisations, chaired by the UAM Foundation (FUAM), including Román Martín Antón (SIGNUS), Ana Asenjo Trillo (ENRESA), and Ainhöa Lizarbe (SIGAUS), who shared lessons learned and sector priorities: increased prevention, data-based traceability, and partnerships to accelerate circularity.
“The circular economy is built every day through responsible decisions, measurable evidence, and collaborative teams. This is the lever transforming waste into resources and creating environmental and social value,” said Lizarbe in her speech.
Likewise, the SIGAUS representative took the opportunity to acknowledge the efforts of the UAM academic team and congratulate the graduating class on completing a programme that opens doors in consultancy, public administration, business, research, and entrepreneurship. The closing event also highlighted the changing context of waste and wastewater management, marked by increased regulatory requirements and the need for measurable evidence. This involved student participation and a final meeting that enabled exchange among teachers, organisations, and graduates. The closing ceremony clearly demonstrated the strong health of a programme that combines engineering, economics, law, and communication to prepare professionals capable of translating regulatory objectives into tangible results.

SIGAUS, which has collaborated with this master's degree since 2018, will strengthen its Aula Ambiental programme this academic year by offering technical sessions and organising visits to used industrial waste oil management facilities, aiming to combine theory with practice, share performance metrics, and improve the employability of young talent. In this way, the entity renews its commitment to continue building bridges between universities and companies, promoting circularity projects that reduce environmental impact, generate social value, and are sustained over time.
