In her speech, Ainhöa Lizarbe, SIGAUS Director of Institutional Relations and Communications, congratulated the students and urged them to take up the challenge of building a more sustainable world, emphasising their responsibility as future waste management professionals.
She also shared the good news that SIGAUS has decided to hire the two Master’s students who interned there during the course, another example of the organisation’s commitment to environmental training through the ‘SIGAUS Environmental Classroom’ and the creation of job opportunities for young professionals in the sector. Furthermore, Lizarbe highlighted the growth of the waste management sector and the importance of having qualified professionals to lead the transition to a circular economy.
The closing ceremony continued with the awarding of student distinctions to recognise their dedication and effort throughout the course, and ended with a presentation by the students themselves.
