SIGAUS sponsors the 7th Car Repair Race
The seventh edition of this popular road-race, which promotes the responsible maintenance of vehicles as a fundamental element of road safety, was held in Valdebebas on the 12th of March, boasted the participation of 3,000 runners between the different categories of adults and minors. SIGAUS provided the runners with technical gloves to run with and helped with drafting of Ecorunner, a guide to raise runners’ awareness on the environmental impact that this type of sporting activities cause and how these can be minimised.

In line with its commitment to the after-sales sector, and by showing its support for road safety and the responsible maintenance of vehicles as a guarantee of environmental protection, SIGAUS has once again undertaken the sponsorship of the Car Repair Race, whose seventh edition was held on Sunday the 12th of March in Valdebebas, Madrid. The race was considered a major success with the participation of 2,500 adults in the categories of 5km and 10 km, along with 500 children, as for the first time, the race was opened to the youngest runners.
SIGAUS sponsorship of the Car Repair Race, in which they provided the runners with technical gloves to run with. Likewise, the Company took part in the drafting of EcoRunner, a guide created for the occasion and which has as its aim of raising awareness on the part of drivers, sportspeople and organisers of road races on the environmental impact that this type of sporting activities cause and how these can be minimised. Thus, in the guide, runners are provided with pieces of advice on how to be environmentally responsible during races, for example, using public transport rather than private cars, or handling waste products during the race, such as sachets of energy gels or water bottles.

As one of the sponsors of the Car Repair Race, SIGAUS received a diploma during the prize-giving ceremony that was handed to Fermín Martínez de Hurtado, Head of Institutional Relations and Communications in the Company, who received this from Ramón Marcos, the CEO of CONEPA, one of the Race’s organisers.
Raising drivers and pedestrians’ awareness
From the very outset of the of the Car Repair Race, SIGAUS has supported all seven editions of this initiative that promotes responsibility, on an individual as well as shared level, as a fundamental aspect of road safety, as well as fostering the culture of responsible upkeep of vehicles. Under the slogan “get in shape: caring for your car means caring for yourself”, this race, organised by ASETRA (Association of Repair Garage Entrepreneurs of Madrid) and CONEPA (Spanish Federation of Automotive Entrepreneurial Professionals) aims to raise awareness on the part of motorist, automotive sector professionals and other citizens of the social benefits that responsible care and upkeep of our vehicles can bring, both in terms of road safety, as well as for the environment or the economy.
