SIGAUS shows its support to the automotive aftersales sector in a new edition of the Carrera del Taller

This initiative, which promotes road safety through responsible vehicle maintenance, held its 12th edition in Madrid on 17 September. The race, which coincides with European Mobility Week, once again received the support of SIGAUS, which continues to show its commitment to the auto repair shop sector, playing a fundamental role in the proper management of this hazardous waste.

The venue chosen for this popular race was Valdebebas, in Madrid, with 5, 10 and 15 kilometre races to suit all types of runners. The event was attended by over 2,000 runners, bringing together auto repair shops and companies from the automotive and aftermarket automotive sectors from all over Spain, with the common goal of raising awareness among professionals in the sector and the public about the importance of proper vehicle maintenance, thus contributing not only to increasing road safety, but also to environmental protection.

The race was promoted alongside the campaign, “Repair shops committed to sustainable and safe mobility”, in which repair shop professionals and entrepreneurs showed their commitment to the responsible maintenance of vehicles, highlighting their important social role in favour of sustainable mobility.

With this new edition of the Carrera del Taller, there are now twelve editions in which 210 teams and more than 30,000 runners have taken part, and which have been supported by SIGAUS.

With this new edition of the Carrera del Taller, organised by ASETRA (the Madrid Association of Automotive Repair Shop Entrepreneurs) with the support of CONEPA (Spanish Federation of Automotive Repair Shop Entrepreneurs), there are now twelve editions in which 210 teams and more than 30,000 runners have taken part, and which have been supported by SIGAUS.

SCRAP, the reference in Spain for the management of industrial oils, positively values this type of initiative to promote the culture of responsible automotive maintenance among drivers and professionals, as well as the social function of repair shops, both for road safety and for the care of the environment and the economy.

This edition of the race also received institutional support from the Madrid City Council, the Directorate-General for Traffic (DGT), the Ancera associations, Open and Aema-ITV; it shares values with Fesvial and the Pons Foundation and collaborated with Stop Accidentes and Avanza ONG.
